Troy’s property investment journey started over 20 years ago at the prime age of 22. At that time Troy was working was in the Royal New Zealand Air Force as an Aircraft Engineer. It was his time there that he attained a knowledge for systems and procedures and most importantly detail. Since leaving his craft of engineering, Troy has been focused on Property investment full time. Troy has amassed over 20 years of experience in all facets of Property Investment. He has developed an immense property transaction and acquisition knowledge base and skill-set through focusing on building his own property portfolio and development projects.

Troy has educated chartered accountants across New Zealand in Residential Depreciation, as well as growing a successful business in Property Valuation. Managing and running a Project Management company at the turn of the millennium brought many challenges and win-falls. This helped tightly hone effective delivery and performance systems and procedures. Troy is a member of the Project Management Institute and is experienced in all aspects of project management with prominence in the acquisition, construction, marketing and divestment phases.

At the start of the Global Financial Crisis in New Zealand, Troy relocated to Australia for five years to study further and established a property finance business. Troy is a highly accomplished public speaker and is an authority on the Auckland property market. He has mentored over 200 people to also build their own property investment portfolios. Troy partnered with David Whitburn and Ammon Acarapi at FUZO Property to combine their vast property expertise, and is the current General Manager. Troy is proud to have led FUZO Property to new heights as we have become one of Auckland’s most trusted development and property firms.

David Whitburn

Head of Strategy


David is a Head of Strategy and Development Director, specialising in medium density housing, development partnerships and joint ventures. His passion is both in creating good property projects and connecting people with them. He is a professional property investor, was President of the Auckland Property Investors’ Association (“APIA”) 2010 – 2014 before being elected as a Life Member by APIA’s membership at their 2015 AGM.  David is best-selling author of Invest and Prosper with Property published by Penguin Random House in 2011. He has successfully project managed well over 200 projects in the past decade ranging from sleep-outs and granny flats to complex over 40-lot subdivisions, and over 40-unit apartment development projects. David consults and presents at seminars for two of New Zealand’s leading banks and in the past provided high-end property consulting to property investors seeking excellence. He is a member of the Construction Law Society of New Zealand.

David is extremely well connected in the property market, across all disciplines and aspects of property investing. He is widely sought for his opinions on the property market, and has appeared on TV1 News, TV3 News, Sunday, Breakfast, Close Up, Prime News, various TV documentaries, NZ Herald, Herald on Sunday, Sunday Star Times, The Independent (UK), Interest.co.nz and in various national and international magazines and leading radio stations. David was also a columnist for the NZ Property Investor Magazine for two years.

Ammon is a professional property investor and leading mortgage broker specialising in both residential funding and development finance. As a Registered Financial Advisor with a degree in management and finance, Ammon’s passion is helping people make money through property, and at FUZO Property, Ammon takes clients through how to maximise the value and income of the land they own, or are soon to own.

Ammon has been involved in property for well over a decade and regularly appears in the media as an expert commentator on matters related to property and property finance. He was a commentator on property for TV1 in the lead up to the 2011 General Elections, and has appeared on the cover of NZ Property Investor Magazine. Ammon is also a Board Member of the Auckland Property Investors Association.

Ammon Acarapi is an intelligent investor who is very skilled in setting strategies for clients, and providing a range of financing solutions. He has a truly impressive network and is prominent in monitoring the systems and managing stakeholder relationships with our key suppliers and alliance partners. Ammon has project managed a number of successful subdivisions, and is a highly successful property developer in his own right.

Jen has been a property investor since 2002 buying and holding residential property in Auckland, and more recently property trading since 2012. During this time Jen was featured in the book ‘How To Profit From Property In 3-5 Years’, top rating NZ television show My House, My Castle, NZ Property Magazine, NZ Herald, and has personally created a multi-million dollar property portfolio.

Having experienced two property booms and personally buying, selling, holding, renovating well over 20 properties in her time, Jen is passionate about helping people maximize their portfolio and cash-flow, and shares her personal property projects and knowledge on the website propertywithscooter.com.

Jen started investing in property at the age of 21, and has built her business with a focus on customer service, training, public speaking and helping people achieve financial goals. Today, Jen is still actively growing her property portfolio with minor dwellings and enjoys helping FUZO Property clients realise the potential in their property portfolio. She lends her experience to help navigate investors to build their cashflow and equity, and best poise themselves for growth.

Steve McMenemy

Acquisitions Manager


As an active property investor and trader throughout two full property cycles, Steve fully understands the importance of building a balanced property portfolio. The knowledge gained from experiencing the highs as well as the lows (twice) cannot be underrated.
Starting in the finance industry servicing Property Investors mortgage needs, Steve has gone on to hold an impressive range of front line roles within the property industry spanning 15 years, and is the co-inventor of an internationally patented educational property investment board game. During this time, Steve has amassed a vast knowledge base which he willingly shares with his clients on a daily basis.

More recently Steve was the best Acquisition Manager by volume of property acquired for the largest property investor in the country with well over 60,000 properties, in Housing New Zealand (“HNZ”). Steve was responsible with spending hundreds of millions of dollars on behalf of the Crown, whilst establishing and negotiating joint venture housing developments with private sector developers, negotiating strategic land acquisitions and managing and negotiating strong outcomes to Compulsory Land Acquisitions/Disposals via the Public Works Act.

He is an expert at all aspects of property purchasing and is widely acknowledged as being the largest buyer in the Auckland region over the past five years. The depth of relationships Steve has with real estate agents, property finders, builders, developers and other sources of properties is phenomenal. He is the Richie McCaw of property acquisition, and leads FUZO Property’s powerful finding team, to truly provide our clients with an unfair advantage.
